Do I really need an attorney in my car accident case?

A: No. You may not need an attorney. Even though I am an attorney, there are some cases in which you are most likely better off handling the case on your own. For example, if your total medical expenses (this includes what your insurance company has paid, what you are responsible for, etc.) are less than $5,000 and you do not have permanent injuries then I will not agree to represent you. This is because I have found that most people can negotiate these smaller cases on their own without needing to hire an attorney. However, keep in mind that there are issues to consider in smaller cases just like the bigger one. These issues include: Who is going to pay your medical expenses? Who is going to pay your health insurance back? These are all questions that you need to know the answers to before agreeing to any settlement in your case.
