Many people wonder how they will get their medical bills paid after a car crash. They weren’t at fault so why is the doctor billing their health insurance company. The following principles tell you about getting your bills paid after a wreck. The process may sound simple, but many Iowa accident attorneys will not explain the process to you.
First, if you have medical insurance, make sure your bills are being submitted to your medical insurance company for repayment. The doctor may ask how you were injured, but they are still required to submit the bills to your health insurance to get paid.
Secondly, check your car insurance policy. You should have a small portion of coverage for medical payments that will pay for medical expenses related to the accident. You may need to contact your insurance company to get this payment, but it is worth checking into.
Lastly, the insurance company for the person that hit you is ultimately responsible for paying your bills from the car wreck if they're found liable. The problem is, they won’t pay until the end of the case and you don’t want to wait for those payments while the case is being pursued. Your insurance company will be reimbursed when the person at fault’s insurance pays for the damage they caused.
