A construction worker who was originally from Arizona was hired by an Iowa contractor to work here in Iowa.  He mostly did new construction framing and was working on a ladder when it shifted.  This caused him to fall about 8 feet and he landed on his feet shattering both of his heels (calcaneus fractures).  This also led to problems with his back because of the altered gait he developed as he walked different following his injuries.  He was in his 50's at the time of the work injury and was unable to go back to construction work.  We were able to settle his case for $383,890, plus future medical expenses for his work injuries including money being paid into an MSA- Medicare Set-Aside account.
