North Carolina Truck Driver Hurt on the Job near Des Moines, Iowa.

A truck driver from North Carolina was delivering a load near Des Moines, Iowa.  While he was on the loading dock he slipped on some ice and fell onto his back.  His neck snapped violently backward and he had immediate pain from his neck into his right arm.  He was taken by ambulance and not able to complete his route.  His employer flew him back to North Carolina where he required a cervical fusion surgery to treat his injuries.  While he did much better after his surgery, he was not able to return to his truck driving job.  After more than 1 year of litigation, he received a settlement of $297,000 plus money paid into an account for his future medical expenses.
