First and foremost please keep in mind that any lawyer in Iowa can say that they are a qualified workman compensation lawyer. While we do not agree with this law, we want you to understand that they can say this so you can avoid hiring a lawyer with little or no experience handling work injury cases in Iowa. Under Iowa law, a lawyer is not supposed to say they are the best, but it is okay if their past and current clients along with other lawyers tell you their opinions.

Where do you find information about what clients and other attorneys have to say?

1. Lawyer Webpage

This information should be on the lawyer's webpage usually under a tab called Testimonials.  Some of the best workman compensation lawyers in Iowa will have both Client Reviews and Attorney Endorsements about previous cases. Some will even have Client Reviews in both video and written formats. This way you can see and hear what past clients have to say about the lawyer. Also, what other attorneys say about the lawyer you are researching can be important about the lawyer's reputation in the legal community and their past legal work.

2. Communication

Year after year the lack of communication that attorneys provide to their clients is the biggest client complaint. You will want to know how does the attorney communicate with their clients? Do they timely respond to phone calls and emails or are they too busy handling other cases to handle yours in a timely fashion? Will the lawyer keep you informed about what is going on in your case?  These questions and more are important to determine if the lawyer you are considering is really the best for you and your case.

3. Working Relationship

Along the same lines of communication is how will you be treated by the lawyer and their staff. Do they follow the golden rule and will they treat you like they would want to be treated if they were injured?  Do the lawyers have so many cases that when you call they have no idea what you are talking about because your case is just a file in a pile on their desk? These are just some of the things that you should be able to find out by reading the books that the lawyer has written, watching videos they produce about Iowa workman compensation and researching what prior clients and other attorneys have to say.

As you probably have figured out, it is not easy to find the best workman compensation lawyer in Iowa. You should do some research to find out if the lawyer you are considering has significant experience with handling Iowa work comp. cases and if they will respect you throughout the whole process. Your legal matter is far too important to just hire a lawyer recommended to you by a friend who went through a divorce or the first attorney that you find online. With some work and research, we think you should be able to find the best lawyer for your case.
