A registered nurse from Knoxville sustained a serious hand injury at work which led to mental health issues including depression and anxiety when she was no longer able to return to her nursing career.  The defendant hospital hired mental health experts, conducted surveillance and had co-workers testify at her trial all in an effort to discredit her claims.  Ultimately, the judge who heard the evidence found that she was permanently and totally disabled.  The defendants not only appealed to the work comp. Commissioner, but also filed for judicial review.  Defendants appeals were not successful, and our client will receive a weekly check for the rest of her life which is expected to exceed $800,000.  In addition, she also received Social Security disability benefits and has ongoing lifetime medical care for her work injuries.

Expected Payments of More than $800,000
