Summer is finally here and while I'm definitely glad for the break, I've really enjoyed school this year! Some of my favorite classes this year were art class, Spanish, literacy, and baking in FCS (Family and Consumer Science). Art is great because I love drawing and painting; it has always been one of my favorite subjects. This year, we did this cool project where we painted a field and a tree with materials you don't normally use to paint, like a sponge and a Q-tip. A new class for me this year was Spanish. My mom knows some Spanish, so I was really excited to learn some too. It was really fun to start to learn a new language. Reading, or literacy, has always been one of my most loved subjects. I really liked our Titanic unit in literacy, and I learned so many new things. Lastly, I really enjoyed baking in family and consumer science (much better than I liked our units on washing dishes or doing laundry). I already knew how to do most of the steps with baking, so it was very easy and enjoyable. Maybe you’ll see one of my cookie recipes in a future newsletter!
