Iowa Kids Corner
This month means the Fourth of July is here. Happy 250th birthday to America! In our family, we have a few different things we do to celebrate. Some years we will go to the pool where there are a bunch of special holiday activities, like diving for coins, wrestling for a watermelon, and a diving competition. Other years, we will go to my grandpa’s house for BBQ. He makes lots of great things like pulled pork, brisket, and ribs. The ribs are definitely my favorite! It’s usually our first sweet corn of the season too. Our neighborhood also usually does a big block party with tons of food and fun. We do some small fireworks like sparklers, snappers, color bombs, and snakes before the big fireworks show. We love being able to stay up late all together. I hope that everyone had a great Fourth of July and remember to stay safe with the fireworks!
