State of Iowa Employee from Clarinda Qualifies for Iowa Second Injury Fund

A maintenance worker who worked for the State of Iowa for more than 30 years in Clarinda, Iowa sustained a left knee injury at work.  He did not know how much compensation he should receive so thankfully he contacted our office.  We found out that he sustained a prior injury to his right knee which qualified him for Iowa Second Injury Fund benefits.  If he had just taken what Sedgwick wanted to pay him he would have lost out on $170,000 paid over two years because of his work injury.  Remember, your employer and their insurance company do not have to explain your rights to you or even tell you the truth in your work injury case.
